Software Licensing for UA Faculty, Staff & Students

The University of Arizona has a variety of software contracted at the enterprise level. Other software titles are available to academic institutions for educational use. Access to software licenses is dependent upon your affiliation with the University of Arizona.
The alphabetical list below provides links to information about, and access to, certain software titles used regularly by faculty, staff, and students at the university. This list is not comprehensive, but can guide you to helpful information. If you are aware of a software program licensed by the university that is not listed here, please contact us.
- Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (See Adobe Creative Cloud) This software creates and manages dynamic forms, offers enhanced editing and form creation, plus the ability to send, track, and receive electronic and digital signatures, plus much more.
- Adobe Creative Cloud (eg Marketing) Collection of Adobe desktop and mobile apps, from essentials like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign to innovative new tools.
- Adobe Creative Cloud for Students Available at no cost to students enrolled at the University of Arizona.
- Adobe Document Cloud & Sign For turning manual document processes into efficient digital ones.
- Adobe Shared Device License (Adobe CC) There are two different types of packages available to designated Adobe Departmental Reps: Auto-updates enabled and Auto-updates disabled.
- ANSYS Simulation Software To create complete virtual prototypes of complex products and systems – comprised of mechanical, electronics and embedded software components.
- Anti-spam Plug-In for Outlook (2010, 2013) (Outlook versions 2016-32 & 64 bit, Outlook 2019-64 bit and Office 365) Designed to make reporting spam, phishing, or virus emails quick and easy.
- Assistive Technology Tools to assist you with reading, writing, studying and research.
- AutoDesk (AutoCAD and more) Autodesk includes applications for architecture, engineering, simulation, manufacturing, geographic information systems, 3-D modeling, film production and game development.
- ChemOffice Pro A scientifically intelligent, integrated suite of personal productivity tools that helps scientists to efficiently keep track of their work, gain a deeper understanding of their data and produce scientific reports professionally and efficiently.
- D2L Provides instructors and students with an online space for traditional classroom courses, online classes, or hybrids.
- D2L TurnItIn/Plagiarism A tool that helps detect whether a student's writing is similar to writing that already exists in the world.
- Dictation Tools to assist you with reading, writing, studying and research.
- EndNote is a citation management tool. It allows users to create personal reference libraries, insert citations into Word, organize references, and send citations from databases into EndNote.
- ERDAS Imagine (License Subscription $) A robust geospatial analysis platform centered on advanced remote sensing analysis and spatial modeling to create new information.
- ESRI designs and develops the world's leading geographic information system (GIS) technology for management, analysis, and display of geographic knowledge.
- Google Workspace (CatMail) offers online productivity software, storage, and other services, such as email service for students.
- JMP (License Subscription $) Standard statistical computer program that assists researchers in implementing statistical methodology.
- JMP Pro (License Subscription $) The advanced analytics version of JMP that lets you use the data you have now to better anticipate the future and plan well for tomorrow.
- LabVIEW is a graphical programming platform that helps engineers scale from design to test and from small to large systems.
- MatLab is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming.
- Mendeley (UA Library Software) Mendeley is a web and desktop-based citation manager that helps you simplify the tasks of building and organizing your reference library, making notes and annotations across papers, collaborating with others and inserting citations and bibliographies into the papers you’re writing.
- Microsoft Office 365 offers online and downloadable productivity software, online storage, and other services, such as email service for active employees and DCCs.
- Microsoft Software and Subscriptions Products available for departmental purchase through the University of Arizona's enterprise agreement.
- OSCR Lab Software List The Office of Student Computing Resources (OSCR) operates computer labs on the University of Arizona’s main campus. It also features a wide variety of software that can be requested and set up at these labs.
- Panopto A video platform for video hosting, screen casting, and classroom recording.
- Qualtrics (Online Survey Tool) Qualtrics is a cloud-based platform for creating online surveys to collect and analyze participant responses.
- Respondus Lockdown Browser & D2L is a custom browser that prevents students from using other applications on their computers while taking a quiz.
- R-System is a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics.
- SAS (License Subscription $) Standard statistical computer program that assists researchers in implementing statistical methodology.
- SolidWorks is 3D modeling software. This computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software gives you the ability to design products in 3 dimensions.
- SolidWorks (for eligible academic programs) SOLIDWORKS Education Edition applies only for classroom or laboratory educational purposes, but NOT for funded research projects.
- Sophos Sophos Central is the anti-virus, anti-malware, and device encryption solution for University of Arizona Systems.
- SPSS (License Subscription $) Standard statistical computer program that assists researchers in implementing statistical methodology.
- Stata Standard statistical computer program that assists researchers in implementing statistical methodology.
- Text-to-Speech Tools to assist you with reading, writing, studying and research.
- Turning Technology Clickers enable students to answer questions asked by instructors during lectures. Instructors may also use responses from the devices to measure lecture attendance.
- UA Libraries Software List of the software you need to get your work done.
- UA Library Databases, eJournals & Resources An A-Z listing of databases and information resources.
- VCAT is a virtual computing system for students and faculty that is accessible from anywhere with a broadband internet connection.
- VPN provides a secure connection from your home computer, laptop, or mobile device to the UA's network. It is also a valuable security tool when you are on an unsecured wireless network (e.g., coffee shops, airports).
- WEPA Print Drivers for CatPrints provide the ability to upload/send documents from any location and conveniently print them at any CatPrints printing kiosk on-campus.
- Zoom is a tool used for video conferencing throughout the University of Arizona.
- Zoom Portal via D2L will explain how you can use the Zoom web portal to create and share meetings as well as how to view meeting recordings within the Zoom web portal.
